Celebrities. We see them everywhere, but do we ever think of the things they affect our everyday lives? Probably not. That's where the problem starts. We don't realise how much they are intertwined in our lives.

They are involoved in everything. We turn on the t.v and there's Brittany Spears and the danger she is causing her baby. Turn on the radio or put in a CD and you are listening to them. Watch sports at all? You are watching them.

They filter into almost every part of our lives. Especially a teen's life. We do everything to keep up with current gossip, issues, trends, fads, issues. Anything to do with anyone famous is fair game. They have a huge impact on us, but the thing is; Is it a good impact?

We are always looking at ads of gorgeous people telling us that things like smoking, sex and annorexia are good. You never see any celebrities renforcing not having sex, showing off at lot of skin or being a normal weight. Why? Things like power, sex appeal, and just plain sex, sells. That is all celebrities are out there to do. Sell records, magazines, toys, clothes, movies and such. They teach us things like; having money will get you women or that being skinny will make you a better person. It's things like this that inspire negative attitudes and ideas among teens.

I was watching a music video the other day on Marilyn Monroe and i was amazed at how much sex appeal even she sprinkled into her media appreances. Like the classic picture of her walking over a vent and her skirt blowing upwards when a camera happened to be on her. Doesn't sound like an accident to me. Then there are movies like Grease, that are basically about nothing but getting laid. Those songs that once upon a time seemed so innocent are actually chock full of sex. They suggest all sorts of sexual things. To think my parents let me watch movies like that in grade 3.

The worst types of celebrities are the ones who will do anything to get noticed like Brittany Spears or Pamela Anderson. They are actually on the verge of driving me up the wall. Their celebrity actions and publicity stunts make me so angry, Like Pam, she is the spokesperson for Peta, an organization who believes eating meat and killing any animals is wrong. If you had any idea what they put on those websites then you would know why I say its just a publicity stunt.

Celebrities do some pretty stupid things such as hang their baby out their windows or molest little children. They all to often set examples of things that are not always the best approach to life. They often portray themselves as sex symbols and powerful images. The women wear skimpy clothing most of the time or they wear desinger labels that no one else who leads a normal life could afford to buy, and they make it out to be the only way to be "cool." If your a guy, don't worry your not left out of the brainwashing. Men are portrayed as always having girls around them and unless they are filthy rich, they are also expected to be fit and well muscled.

Now tell me after hearing all this, would you think twice before you decided "I want to look exactly like that celeb!" I hope so because there is actually no point in following them. They are just overly rich and overly made up people. Now, do you really want to be a part of a youth that is brain washed by that?
