Frederic Fekkai, Hollywood's hottest hairdresser, is currently in Australia to promote the introduction of his range of luxury hair products and to talk about current hair fashions. Frederic Fekkai's American salons are constantly filled with A-list actresses and models. The stars trust Frederic to create for them hairstyles that will be copied by millions and he is currently here in Australia on a whirlwind tour. In Hollywood French-born Frederic is hair and he has cut a niche in never land as the celebrity stylist. We managed to catch up with Frederic exclusively to get the last word on the most fashionable hairstyles of the moment and how to obtain a great look. Frederic says that it depends on the individual that he is styling and that essentially techniques vary.
"It's not just about a haircut, it's the idea of seeing a woman, or a man, and understanding their lifestyle, and their personality and creating a style that works for them." The names on Frederic's list of clients reads like a who's who of Hollywood starlets and super models. "...Of course, Scarlett Johannson, Naomi Watts, Salma Hayek, Ashley Judd, Heidi Klum," a nonchalant Fredric said listing the stars he does work for. The Fekkai celebrity sedu hairstyles phenomenon started twenty five years ago, when he went to America working as a stylist. "...In magazines, and working on film sets and that's how really I came to know a lot of fashion models, photographers and celebrities that really put me on the map." Now, the A-list comes to him. Fredric has three salons, one in New York, one in Beverly Hills and one in Palm Beach, Florida. Demonstrations done by the superstar snipper are showcasing his picks for what's hot this summer, at the beach, on the town or at work. Frederic's wife works for Yves Saint Laurent and you've got to wonder if she ever gets jealous of her husband's celebrity clientele? "No, no my wife Shirin is actually quite secure and also she knows them very well so she works in that world too, she's wonderful and greatly supportive of my work".
