You of course remember the infamous lesbian kiss Madonna gave Britney Spears live on MTV while rival Christina Aguilera looked on. 
It would appear that NBC's 'Today show' host Meredith Vieira wants to steal some of that publicity thunder, report our friends at National Ledger.

In an appearance on Thursday morning, Vieira hosted Material Girl Madonna at 30 Rock and she was questioned on a variety of subjects. According to the AP, Madonna said that the reason she'd never done a live interview on "Today" before was because she didn't like "talking to people this early."

Madge was kind enough to pull herself together to plug her animated movie "Arthur and the Invincibles" and to take sides in the ongoing Rosie O'Donnell, Donald Trump feud. 

Madonna says "people are giving Rosie a hard time," and damnit! she doesn't think it's fair.

Madonna also said she and Britney Spears have "drifted apart," joking, "we shared a kiss and I never saw her again. You see, that's how it goes in my life."

It's not real clear as to the reason Meredith Vieira then says what she does. Amazingly enough, Meredith invites Madonna to kiss her live on camera. "You can kiss me if you want.." Vieira says as the two walk outside. Madonna seemed to ignore the suggestion and it is amazing no media picked up on this yesterday.
